The top two vote-getters will move on as they seek to replace outgoing Mayor Don Ness, who opted to not run for a third term.

Six Duluth City Council seats are up for election this fall, but only one requires a primary today. The race for western Duluth's 5th District includes incumbent Jay Fosle and challengers Allan Beaulier, Derrick Ellis and Janet Kennedy.

Two of the three Duluth School Board seats up for election this fall are on today's primary ballot. The District 2 seat, which covers a portion of eastern Duluth and is being vacated by Judy Seliga-Punyko, is being sought by Jane Hammerstrom Hoffman, David Kirby and Charles Obije.

Candidates seeking an At-Large seat, covering the entire city of Duluth as well as Rice Lake, Lakewood, Normanna, Gnesen and North Star townships north of Duluth, are Alanna Oswald, Jim Unden and Renee VanNett.
