Rochester Lourdes, the 10-time defending champion, beat No. 2 Mounds Park Academy 5-2 in the quarterfinals, but had the outcome reversed by a technicality. Lourdes coach Kevin Rust's submitted lineup was different from one he verbally announced before the 8 a.m. match and the Eagles had to forfeit two matches because of the discrepancies. That meant a 4-3 win for Mounds Park Academy, coached by former Minnesota Duluth captain and former Duluth East coach Justen Seim.
In Class AA, No. 1 Edina's bid for an 11th straight title continued with a 6-1 quarterfinal win over Section 7 representative Elk River at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
