Superior rallied from six points down at halftime to beat host Grand Rapids 57-54 in a high school boys basketball nonconference game Thursday, snapping one long streak and continuing another.
Brent Engstrom led the Spartans (15-3) with 22 points and Joel Lindberg scored 14 of his 16 in the second half after picking up three fouls in the first half.
The loss snapped a seven-game win streak for Grand Rapids (17-3), while keeping Superior's streak of 33 consecutive wins vs. Minnesota teams intact.

Mike Carlson scored 32 points to continue a big week for the senior as the visiting Hilltoppers (6-13) won back-to-back games for just the second time this season.

East senior Marisa Yernatich scored 31 points in her final regular-season home game to lead the Greyhounds (13-11) to a sweep of Hermantown and move into fourth place all-time (2,160 points) among Northland girls basketball scorers, moving past 2003 Barnum graduate Justine Axtell and 1984 Chisholm graduate Judy McDonald.

Lisa Muehlberger's 19 points helped the visiting Trojans to the Lake Superior Conference win and sweep the season series from the Hunters.
