Power outage affects about 2,000 customers in Duluth

An hourlong power outage affected about 2,000 homes and businesses in parts of Duluth's Hillside, Endion and Kenwood neighborhoods Tuesday afternoon.

An hourlong power outage affected about 2,000 homes and businesses in parts of Duluth's Hillside, Endion and Kenwood neighborhoods Tuesday afternoon.

Minnesota Power said a bad underground cable at Triggs Avenue caused the outage around 11:30 a.m. Crews were able to switch feeders and restore power before 12:30 p.m., spokeswoman Kelley Eldien told the News Tribune.

The outage affected the campus of the College of St. Scholastica.
