The field of candidates for the Duluth City Council seat in the 4th District is getting more crowded, as Matt Potter, a community activist and program coordinator with the Valley Youth Center, announced his candidacy on Monday.
Potter, 28, said he's a lifelong resident of Duluth and 1999 graduate of Denfeld High School who earned a bachelor's degree at University of Wisconsin Superior majoring in political science and minoring in criminal justice.
If elected, Potter said one of his top priorities would be increased youth programming and putting more emphasis on repairing the city's roads.
Kerry Gauthier has already announced his candidacy for the 4th District seat, a position currently filled by Garry Krause, whose term ends this year. Krause has not yet announced if he will seek re-election.
