Potlatch Corp. of Spokane, Wash., reported a steep increase in third-quarter net earnings.
The company on Thursday reported net earnings of $41 million, compared with $25.7 million in the third quarter of 2006. Third quarter 2007 revenue was $391 million, compared to $371 million in the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2006.
The earnings announcement attributed the gains to increased sales of timber at better prices than a year ago at the same time.
