A portion of U.S. Highway 2 in Ashland County is closed because of extreme weather conditions, the Ashland County Highway Department reported.
The highway was declared impassable at 2:51 p.m. today from Ashland to the state Highway 13 turnoff to Bayfield.
Those who must travel should use state Highway 137 as a detour, the Highway Department said.
