A fire was quickly extinguished in an unoccupied duplex in Virginia on Friday morning.
The Virginia Fire Department reported that it responded to a fire in the rear porch area of a two-story duplex at 227 Sixth St. S. at 11:58 a.m. Friday. The fire was extinguished at 12:06 p.m. and fire crews remained on the scene for a little over two hours, according to the Fire Department.
Seven people live at the address but weren’t home at the time of the fire, according to the Fire Department. Damage is estimated at $5,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Virginia Fire Marshal.
