The Gogebic County (Mich.) Sheriff's Department is looking for an inmate who failed to return after a day of parole on his birthday, which was Friday.
John Alfred Mapstone, 32, is a white male with reddish-blond hair and blue eyes. He weighs 190 pounds and is 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He was wearing white shorts and a white T-shirt and carrying a bag with blue jeans and a blue button-up shirt with paint on it. He was last seen about 5 p.m. Friday in Ironwood Township, Mich.
Mapstone was serving time for assault charges.
