The Duluth Police Department identified the man who died in a crash on Jean Duluth Road last weekend as 25-year-old Brian Jesse Minko of Duluth.
Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, Minko was driving a truck eastbound in the 2400 block of Jean Duluth Road when he went off the road and crashed into a power line and a tree.
The truck caught fire after the crash. The first Duluth Police officer to arrive on the scene was unable to put it out with a hand-held extinguisher. The Duluth Fire Department eventually extinguished the fire with water.
Minko was a Central High School alumnus and a student at Lake Superior College.
