A man who died in rural Hayward from apparent exposure to the cold has been identified as 47-year-old Frank E. Crone, according to a news release from the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department today.
Information was obtained from identification found on Crone, who was found in a field near Round Lake and Sawyer County Road B. The cause of death is under investigation.
The card listed Crone's address as the Fogg Road area in the Township of Hayward, Sawyer County, on the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation.
Crone walked from his sister's home on Sunday morning at approximately 4:30 a.m. and wasn't heard from since, according to the release. Foul play is not suspected. Results from toxicology tests will not be known until a later date.
