LAKE MINNETONKA, Minn. - Using a Taser and power saw, police officers in this Twin Cities suburb were able to separate two deer whose antlers had become entangled.
South Lake Minnetonka officers were called Monday to a wooded area near a home. One buck already had died when officers arrived, with the other deer jumping and thrashing in an attempt to free itself.
Officers used a Taser to subdue the deer that was alive and, with the help of a nearby resident, used a saw to quickly cut an antler and separate the deer. The deer that had been tased bounced back on his feet and bounded away less than 30 seconds later.
