Police arrest suspect for knife threats

Hermantown police responded Sunday morning to a report of a man armed with a knife and threatening people in the Mobile Village Trailer Park, 4934 Matthew Blvd.

Hermantown police responded Sunday morning to a report of a man armed with a knife and threatening people in the Mobile Village Trailer Park, 4934 Matthew Blvd.

According to a news release from the Hermantown Police Department, officers arrived to find a man in the road with a fillet knife nearby. He was ordered to remove his hands from his pockets and lie on the ground. When he refused, a Taser was used.

As officers attempted to subdue the man, he ran into a nearby trailer.

After backup officers arrived, the man came out of the trailer and was taken into custody.

An apparent assault victim at the scene received a head injury but refused medical treatment.

The suspect, whom police believe was intoxicated, was arrested and taken to the St. Louis County Jail on suspicion of second-degree assault and obstructing the legal process.
