A juvenile male allegedly shot his stepfather in Pine County Wednesday.
According to the Pine County Sheriff's Office, 911 received a medical call to the 10,000 block of Beroun Crossing Road, Pine City, at 4:49 a.m. for a man having trouble breathing. Emergency workers found that the 41-year-old man had been shot in the head.
The victim was transported first to Essentia Health Sandstone and later to a Twin Cities area hospital. He underwent emergency brain surgery and remains in critical condition.
The stepson was arrested and is held at the Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The shooting remains under investigation and charges are pending.
