A portion of the Pickwick Restaurant, damaged by fire more than a week ago, remains closed while repairs are being made.

Half of the seating area and the broiler are shut down because of the damage.

The restaurant's broiler is the focus of repair efforts, Pickwick owner Chris Wisocki said Wednesday. Food is now being broiled outdoors, he said.

The restaurant sustained $50,000 to $70,000 in damage in the June 20 fire, mostly from smoke and water, he said. After the broiler is repaired, work will begin on the restaurant's rooms, Wisocki said.

The fire started in the kitchen's broiler filter system.
