Looking like a cactus in a planter, Spike, a 6-year-old porcupine, digs down into his food bowl to get at a slice of apple Monday morning. Spike lives at the Lake Superior Zoo and fills in for a groundhog. He trundled outside Monday (Groundhog Day) and saw his shadow in intermittent sunshine. Legend has it that if a groundhog sees his shadow on February 2 we'll have six more weeks of winter.
