Ros Brantner of Virginia bikes to the Salvation Army to pick up a loaf of day-old bread for himself Thursday morning under a big halo around the sun. Brantner, who's saving up for a car, has biked over 1,500 miles since last June to his job at a group home. Although he looks forward to getting a car, the exercise has done him good.
