Pet beagle injured after wolf attack in Wisconsin

A pet beagle was injured by wolves in the town of Dairyland on July 18, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The attack occurred on private land. No caution area map was created.

A pet beagle was injured by wolves in the town of Dairyland on July 18, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The attack occurred on private land. No caution area map was created.

This is the second dog-related wolf attack in Douglas County so far this year. A bobcat hound was killed Jan. 18 by wolves in the town of Solon Springs. Six wolves were involved in the depredation, according to information released by the DNR.

Additional Douglas County wolf-related incidents this year include the following: livestock harassment reported Feb. 1 and 8, and April 24; one organic Holstein calf was killed on Feb. 25, another on March 23; one Hereford beef calf was killed on March 30.
