The first "Pedal for Peace and Quiet" bike trip will be sponsored Sept. 11-12 by Minnesotans for Responsible Recreation.
The trip on the Willard Munger State Trail will be 150 miles round trip from Hinckley to Duluth and back, or 75 miles from Moose Lake to Duluth and return.
The adventure begins at10 a.m. in Hinckley at the public shelter just off old Highway 61, or at noon in Moose Lake, just off the Munger trailhead. Riders will have full support vehicles, mechanics and refreshments, as well as full lunches. The evening meal will be a buffet dinner at Spirit Mountain Main Chalet with enertainment by singer/songwriter Sara Thomsen in the evening during the first "Celebration of Quiet Places." Camping at the Spirit Mountain campground is free to all riders.
