The Program for Aid to Victims of Sexual Assault hosts its 28th annual Art Auction, with doors opening at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn Great Lakes Ballroom. The benefit to raise money for support services for victims of sexual assault and to end sexual violence in the Northland includes a silent auction from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and a live auction from 8:15-9:30 p.m. The event features original artwork, fine foods, a cash bar and live entertainment from AM Rubin and classic guitarist Jack Kritzer. The featured artist is painter Lauri Olson-Hohman, whose two pieces she describes as playful and childlike with a touch of Picasso and Miro. Emcees for the events are Beth Jett of Fox 21 News, Jeanne Ryan of Mix 108 FM and Priscilla Manisito of local theater fame, who recently directed "Bat Boy: The Musical" at the College of St. Scholastica. Tickets cost $50. For more information, go to www.pavsa.org or call 726-1442.
