Paul Douglas to speak at banquet

Paul Douglas, meteorologist for WCCO 4 News in Minneapolis, will be the guest speaker at the annual Eagle Scout Recognition Banquet Thursday, April 5, at the Radisson Hotel in Duluth. The event is sponsored by the Voyageurs Area Council No. 286.

New Eagle Scouts will be honored as well as a number of adults who became Eagle Scouts in the past. The latter group includes Judge David Bouschor, who will emcee the event, Robert Mars Jr., Mark Signorelli, Ben Boo, Dr. David Choquette, Rick Heimbach, Bruce Mars, Steve Mars, Robert Mars III, Judge Mark Munger, Mark Myles, Ed Russell, Keith Stauber, Larry Stauber, Dr. Robert Swanstrom, Dr. Len Savela, John Baumgarten, Charles M. Bell, Charles Bouschor, Ed Gould, George Holliday Jr., Jim Jablonski, Pete Jeronimus, Gary Moline, Ken Nebel, Greg Sandbulte, Tom Shefchik and Dr. David Sproat.
Douglas, 41, is also an Eagle Scout. He writes a regular weather column for the Minneapolis StarTribune. He was the chief meteorologist for KARE 11 TV in Minneapolis from 1983 to 1994. He is also the author of a book, "Prairie Skies, the Minnesota Weather Book." Douglas serves on the board of the Boy Scouts of America.

Duluth: Travis Anding, David Betts, Jacob Davis, Kyle Kalmi, Doug Kerfeld, Adam Kokotovich, Christopher Lund, Nick Minardi, Jason Novek, Ryan Paszak, Matthew Rouse, Lee Skolasinski, Andy Weinzierl and David Zbracki.
Hermantown: Jared Hansmeyer, Erik Josephson, Neil Rodvold and Joel Wagenbach.
Virginia: Eric Ballard and Morgan Gettle.
Superior: Mike Delegan, Ryan Hickok and Ben Sorensen.
Also being honored are Spencer Clark of Ashland, Mark Johnson of Carlton, Nathan Jurvelin of Maple, Charles Niemi of Biwabik, Ryan Norrell of Meadowlands, Michael Renman of South Range and Philip Waletzko of Willow River.
