Pak’s Green Corner in West Duluth gets its moment in the national spotlight tonight as it’s set to be featured on Food Network star Guy Fieri’s show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
And owner Kamolpak “Pak” Williams is excited.
“I have never been on the TV,” she said Thursday.
In July, after Fieri and a film crew visited the restaurant on Grand Avenue, Williams called the experience her “silent dream come true.” On Thursday, her one concern was how her preparation of stir fry dishes will look on the small screen. The presence and proximity of the camera caused some limitation of her normal cooking motions.
“I want it to look professional, but I am not sure it will look professional,” Williams said. “But the show must go on anyway.”
Tonight’s episode airs at 9 p.m. Williams said she plans to watch with a group of regular customers.
Fieri visited several other Northland restaurants during his trip to the region in July. An episode featuring Shorty’s Pizza and Smoked Meat in Superior debuted last week.
Kounty Quarthouse in South Range is set to part of an episode debuting at 9 p.m. Oct. 3.
Three other restaurants also were on Fieri’s itinerary while he was in the Northland, but an air date for those episodes has not yet been determined:
* Gannucci’s Italian Market in West Duluth
* Delta Diner, southeast of Iron River, Wis.
* Brick House Café & Catering in Cable, Wis.
Fieri had previously traveled to the Northland in 2010 to tape segments for his show.
