One person was seriously injured when a semi tractor-trailer collided with an SUV near the Solon Springs airport on Friday afternoon.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred at 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 53 and Business 53. The driver of the SUV was airlifted to Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. The driver of the semi was not seriously injured. Neither vehicle had passengers.
The accident remains under investigation, but neither road conditions nor weather appeared to be a factor, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Names of the drivers and the condition of the injured person were not immediately available.
