A man was found dead inside a home after a structure fire in Solway Township on Thursday afternoon.
The Solway Volunteer Fire Department found heavy flames visible through the roof of the single-story house at 6212 Morris Thomas Road when it responded to the address at 2:48 p.m. Thursday.
The victim's identity is being withheld pending further investigation and notification of the family, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said that the victim was not the homeowner, who was not at the residence at the time of the fire.
The Hermantown, Canosia, Grand Lake and Proctor volunteer fire departments also responded to the fire.
