A truck carrying parts of a wind generator collided with a vehicle in St. Cloud Wednesday morning, and one person in the vehicle died as a result of injuries in the crash.
The accident occurred about 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 15 and Second Street South in St. Cloud, said Lt. Mark Peterson of the Minnesota State Patrol. The driver of the truck was not seriously injured. The truck was in a caravan being escorted by Minnesota State Patrol troopers.
The names and hometowns of those involved in the accidents have not yet been released. Peterson said the wind generator truck caravan originated in Duluth, where windmill components often are unloaded from ships, but he didn't know where the caravan was going to.
