Officials say a fire that destroyed a vacant mobile home in Superior early Sunday was a case of arson.
According to the Superior Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a mobile home park at 409 N. 12th St. at 12:53 a.m., and found the fire fully involved with flames and smoke visible.
The fire was knocked down quickly, and firefighters prevented damage to other structures nearby, Battalion Chief Vern Johnson said. Johnson said the fire was incendiary in nature and purposely set; it remains under investigation by the fire department and by Superior police. Anyone with information on the blaze is asked to call authorities in Superior.
No one was injured. The mobile home where the fire started was a total loss, with damage estimated at $3,000.
