The fourth-ranked Greyhounds (10-1-1) won their seventh straight game and upped their unbeaten streak to nine. East defeated Denfeld 2-0 in a lightning-shortened game Thursday night.

The Castle Guards topped the Tigers in the championship game of the Heidi Zosel Invitational. Northwestern went 2-1 in the tournament.

Anna Morgan totaled 31 kills and Lindsay Garay had 70 set assists in the tournament.

Garrity places fourth

Hibbing sophomore Tatum Garrity placed fourth in the Class AA girls race in the Milaca (Minn.) Mega Meet in 15 minutes, 51.1 seconds. In Class A, Esko senior Kaycee Knutson was sixth in 15:18.3.

In Class A boys, Esko senior Bryan Lindquist was ninth in 16:51.5, while in Class AA, Duluth East senior Scott Behling was 10th in 17:04.8. East was third as a team.
