Amy Oakes and Jonathan Mertz, both of Duluth, were married April 28 in Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Castle Danger.
Her parents are Sheryl Hildebrand of Baxter, Minn., and Lawrence and Patricia Oakes of Duluth. His parents are Richard and Lois Mertz of Duluth.
The bride chose her sister, Hilary Oakes, as maid of honor. Gianna Valentini and Maria Valentini were flower girls.
The groom chose his brother, Richie Mertz, as best man. Sam Mertz and Ben Mertz were ring bearers.
The bride, a graduate of Brainerd (Minn.) High School, graduated from the College of St. Scholastica this year with a doctorate in physical therapy. She is a physical therapist at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake.

The groom, a graduate of Duluth East High School, graduated form the University of Minnesota Duluth in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in health science. He is operations manager at Prime Appliance Factory Outlet in Duluth and Superior.
