Northland College in Ashland has suspended its in-person instruction at least through the end of the current academic session.
Students will have the week of March 16-20 off before resuming virtual classes from March 23 through April 17, according to a news release from the college.
All athletic competitions and practices have been canceled for spring season. President Karl Solibakke said he hopes to resume in-person classes and activities for May term, which begins April 29. That decision will not be made until April 3.
“We must play our part to keep our community healthy, to limit the transmission of the virus, and to avoid stress on the public health resources of our region,” Solibakke said.
There are no known cases of COVID-19 in Ashland.
