BEMIDJI -- A Pinewood, Minn., woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly hitting several vehicles with a pickup, running over a motorcycle and leading several law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase through Bemidji and on U.S. Highway 2.

The 26-year-old woman is being held in the Beltrami County Jail pending formal review of criminal charges by the Beltrami County Attorney's Office, according to a release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office.

The chase came after the Beltrami County 911 dispatch center began receiving numerous calls just after 4 p.m. of a silver pickup driving recklessly in the area of Irvine Avenue and Town Hall Road in Northern Township. A few minutes later, the dispatch received a report of a motorcyclist struck by the pickup at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and Jordan Court. According to the sheriff's office release, the motorcyclist was stopped when the pickup "intentionally struck the bike, tipping the motorcyclist and bike over onto the ground. The truck then drove over the motorcycle and fled the scene."

The driver of the motorcycle was able to give a description of the truck and also the license plate, officials said, and was later treated and released at the Sanford Bemidji Emergency Department.

The dispatch center continued to receive calls about the truck, with the general direction of traveling north on Irvine Avenue from the area of Town Hall Road.

At 5:03 p.m., a Beltrami County deputy spotted the vehicle in the city of Bemidji, driving erratically, and attempted to stop the truck. The truck didn't stop and a pursuit ensued through the city and on U.S. Highway 2 east toward Cass Lake. Officials did not say the speeds reached during the chase. Officers with the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department deployed tire deflation devices, flatting the pickup's tires and eventually stopped the vehicle and the woman was arrested.

During the pursuit, a stopped Bemidji police squad car was hit by the suspect, authorities said, and Bemidji Police and the Sheriff's Office later received four reports of the truck hitting other vehicles. No other injuries were reported.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Bemidji Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Leech Lake Police Department and Cass County Sheriff's Office.
