A Grand Forks, N.D., man so annoyed by the volume of a TV in his home that he allegedly shot it out with a .44 Magnum handgun made his first court appearance Monday.
Daryl Lee Nikle was charged with one count of reckless endangerment, a Class C felony.
Police were dispatched to 2207 Seventh Ave. N. at 4:17 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a gun being fired.
UND police were first on the scene, and took Nikle into custody.
According to an affidavit, Nikle stated that the TV was too loud and he had asked three other people in the house to turn it down. Nikle stated that when the volume remained too high, he got his gun and shot the TV. The three other people were in the living room when the shot was fired.
