He will bring to the job more than 20 years of experience managing community development programs, housing and economic development activities; managing millions of dollars in federal grants; helping businesses relocate and expand; and administering economic development grant and loan programs. "It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to work with and serve the residents and businesses of Duluth. I love this community and have since I was a young child. To me, Duluth is the greatest City in the world to live, work and do business. I very much look forward to the wonderful opportunities Duluth has in store and am excited to begin my new journey," said Eng in a statement issued Tuesday.
In the same announcement, David Montgomery, Duluth's chief administrative officer said: "We are excited to have Chris join our team and provide leadership on economic development initiatives. The City and DEDA have achieved significant progress over the past several years and Chris brings in the right skills and experience to move Duluth towards continued prosperity and growth."
