Beginning Friday, Oct. 24, the way parking tickets are issued and paid in Duluth will change.

The city of Duluth has contracted with Complus Data Innovations on a new system for tickets, which will take effect on that date. For the first time, parking tickets issued by the city of Duluth can be paid online, but other changes are also on the way.

St. Louis County will no longer receive money for tickets under the new system. Anyone receiving tickets issued by city staff can now pay them in one of two ways:

Online, at www.parkingticketpayment.com/duluth or by mail, to "Traffic Violation Bureau", PO Box 2064, Tarrytown, NY 10591-9064

As under the old system, citizens wishing to dispute tickets can do so at the Police Customer Service Desk on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. within 10 days of the issuance of the ticket. Those with questions can contact the Police Traffic Violations Bureau at 730-5470.

Citizens who have received tickets under the old system, or who receive tickets at University of Minnesota Duluth issued by the UMD police, should still pay them through St. Louis County.

A special Web page is being set up on the city of Duluth Web site which will show the old and new tickets and give details on disposition of parking ticket fines in the new system. Click the link on the city's main page at www.duluthmn.gov for more information.
