A 30-year-old Nashwauk man suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident west of Virginia on Wednesday morning, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
Lee A. Elj was operating a motorcycle eastbound on U.S. Highway 169 just before 7 a.m. when he went off the road and crashed into a ditch near Spirit Lake Road, the State Patrol said. He was transported to Essentia Health-Virginia.
The road conditions were wet at the time, and Elj was not wearing a helmet. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor, according to the State Patrol report.
