Authorities on Monday morning released the name of a 15-year-old boy from Britt who was run over and killed by a tractor Friday.

Alaric Lamke was pronounced dead after he fell out of the bucket of a moving Bobcat skid-steer tractor and was run over by it around 6:30 p.m. near Clinton Township, just south of Mountain Iron, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

Lamke was standing with his father in the bucket of the tractor while another man was driving. As they used the tractor to move a tree across the property, Lamke fell out of the tractor and was run over by the machine.

Despite lifesaving efforts by first responders, Lamke was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff's office.

In addition to the sheriff's office, Virginia Ambulance, North Memorial Air Medical, Clinton Fire Department and first responders, Minnesota State Patrol and Eveleth Police Department responded to the scene.
