Murphy Oil Corp.'s third quarter net income sank in part due to lower earnings in refining and marketing operations, the company announced today.
The El Dorado, Ark., company reported quarterly net income of $199.5 million on revenue of $4.8 billion. The net income fell from the July through September 2006 figure of $224.1 million. Revenue for that period was $4.2 billion.
Refining and marketing earnings fell due to lower margins unfavorably affected by increasing crude oil prices, a company statement said.
