Motorcyclist killed in crash near McGregor

A 68-year-old man is dead after a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crashed head-on with the motorcycle he was riding near McGregor Tuesday, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
Jeffrey Merz of Palisade, Minn., was stopped on his motorcycle and waiting to pull out of Ukura’s Big Dollar Store on state Highway 65 at about 4:30 p.m. when Allan Lehtinen, 73, of McGregor turned left into the same access, crashing into him, the Patrol said. The motorcycle tipped over, and the pickup ran over both the motorcycle and Merz.
Lehtinen was not injured in the crash.
