The St. Louis County Sheriff's office released the identity of the victim in Friday's motorcycle accident on Maple Grove Road.

Brian Richard Elfving, 39, of Saginaw, was traveling west when he lost control of his Harley Davidson and crashed into the side of a home at 6194 Maple Grove Road just after 10 p.m. Elfving was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a release.

Speed was a factor in the crash, officials told Fox 21 News on Friday. There was no indication the victim tried to brake be-fore the crash.

The ex-husband of the owner of the home told Fox 21 News that he knew Elfving, who had worked for him in the home repair industry for several years.

The man said his 19-year-old daughter was home alone at the time of the crash. She did not witness the accident, but heard the crash. He said he's seen many accidents over the years at that corner, but Friday night's was the most serious.
