A weather observer at Brimson reported a low of 17 below zero Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Duluth. Other low temperatures included:

  • 10 below zero - Embarrass, Cotton, Minong (8 miles WNW), Effie (7 miles E)
  • 9 below zero - Margie, Inger, Bigfork, Fifield (12 miles ENE)
  • 8 below zero - Hibbing, Kabetogama, Littlefork, Brule (11 miles SSE), Upson, Cook
  • 7 below zero - International Falls, Glidden, Namekagon
  • 6 below zero - Ely, Grand Marais airport, Grand Rapids, Crane Lake, Buyck (17 miles E), Cass Lake, Aurora
  • 5 below zero - Cable, Hill City, Phillips, Hermantown, Bena, Wright, Makinen, Bruno
