MINNEAPOLIS -- Touchdown runs by Jon Pietz and Joe Bonk gave Moose Lake-Willow River a 14-13 halftime lead over Luverne in a Minnesota Class AA state high school football tournament semifinal game this evening at the Metrodome.
Pietz scored off tackle from 5 yards out to open the scoring, and Bonk ran in a 4-yard touchdown to give the Rebels a 14-7 lead in a back-and-forth contest.
The winner goes on to face unbeaten Triton (12-0) at 5:45 p.m. next Friday for the state title at the Metrodome.
Derek Elbers scored both TDs for the Cardinals on runs of 52 and 3. Chris Engessor's second extra-point attempt missed to give the Rebels a one-point advantage.
