To borrow from the Beatles, "it was 20 years ago today" the megastorm of 1991 ruined the trick-or-treaters' play. I remember giving the one kid who came to my door the whole bucket of candy. This year, the little ghosts and goblins should have no problems making the rounds.
A partly sunny sky will replace Sunday's weak low in Minnesota, though thicker clouds could linger in Wisconsin. Today's highs should be 45 in the Arrowhead, 48 in the Twin Ports and 50 in northern Wisconsin. Winds should start northeasterly, then veer to easterly and southeasterly from 5-10 mph. A veering wind is a sign of clearing.
Clearer conditions may not last long. A new low could cloud things up on Tuesday and Wednesday but bring only a 30 percent chance of rain. Thursday and Friday should be partly cloudy with highs near 46. Minnesota's deer opener on Saturday will have a 50 percent chance of rain with highs near 45.
