Summer will refuse to let go of its grip across the Northland this week. A strong ridge of warm air in the Upper Midwest is allowing the mercury to climb well above 80 today, and we expect that trend to continue through the rest of the week. Most of us will see plenty of sunshine today, but there is a small chance for a pop-up thunderstorm in extreme northern Minnesota. A weak frontal boundary to the west will provide another chance of thundershowers tomorrow, but that system is relatively weak and is not expected to create widespread showers.

SEVEN-DAY FORECAST

Friday: Scattered thunderstorms, high 82, low 65.
