A four-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 61 north of Silver Bay meant little injury to drivers and passengers Friday afternoon but it left one SUV upside down in the ditch and a pickup smashed into a rock face.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a Ford pickup driven by Ryan Grivette of Grand Marais crossed out of the northbound lane and sideswiped two southbound vehicles and smashed into a third. The final impact forced a Toyota SUV into the ditch, where it rolled. The accident happened about 3 p.m. just north of the intersection with Minnesota Highway 1 in Lake County.
The sideswiped drivers had no injuries. The Toyota driver, Diane Dunder of Superior, was slightly injured. Grivette also had minor injuries.
