ST. PAUL - A 31-year-old St. Paul woman beat another woman with a small baseball bat late Thursday after the two had sparred on Facebook without having met, charges said.

Ramsey County prosecutors charged Bridget Leannamarie Olson with second-degree assault for her alleged attack on the victim, who was identified by the initials K.S.

According to the criminal complaint filed Monday in Ramsey County District Court, after arguing on Facebook, the two decided to settle their differences in person, meeting in St. Paul. Olson approached the other woman’s car and reached inside, quickly hitting K.S. with the bat four or five times in the face and head. The fight continued outside the car.

Olson then drove away, with K.S. following her. K.S. bumped the back of Olson’s minivan with her Kia Soul. Olson called police. A squad car pulled up and stopped both vehicles.

The St. Paul officer “immediately saw K.S. was bleeding heavily and her face was covered in blood,” the complaint said.
