Minnesota sheriff's deputy, suspect injured in shooting

CROOKSTON, Minn. -- Two people, including a Polk County sheriff's deputy, are being treated for non-life threatening injuries after a shooting Thursday near Crookston in northwest Minnesota.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said it is "investigating an officer-involved shooting."  

In a news release, the BCA said the unnamed deputy and a suspect are being treated for injuries. "No other individuals are being sought in connection with this incident," it reads.

Law enforcement officers responded to reports of shots fired near U.S. Highway 75, about two miles south of Crookston.

Grand Forks (N.D.) police Lt. Dwight Love said his department received a mutual aid request Thursday afternoon but it was canceled shortly afterward because the situation had been resolved.
