Eighty soldiers of a St. Cloud, Minn., based National Guard aviation company will deploy to Iraq.
The members of Company B, 2nd General Support Aviation Battalion, 211th Aviation Regiment will travel to Fort Hood, Texas, in late November for approximately two months of pre-deployment training before their 10-month deployment to Iraq.
Flying CH-47 Chinook cargo helicopters, the company will move aerial movement of troops, equipment for Operation New Dawn, the drawdown phase of US military operations in Iraq.
Organized in October 2005, Company B was mobilized in March of 2006, to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.
