WILDCATS update
Northern Michigan has beaten No. 6 Miami of Ohio and No. 19 Alaska Fairbanks this season, and Michigan Tech. All but one win have been by either one or two goals. Junior F Mike Santorelli leads in scoring with 8-9-17 in 12 games. Senior G Bill Zaniboni has played in 11 in of 12 games with a .927 saves percentage and 2.10 goals-against average. Senior D Matt Maunu of Esko recorded his first goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 home win over Fairbanks. The Wildcats are tied for fourth in the 12-team Central Collegiate Hockey Association
Bulldogs update
Out with injuries are W Nick Kemp, C Matt McKnight and D Jason Garrison. Kemp may return for the St. Cloud State series on Nov. 24-25 and McKnight may return by late-December. Freshman G Alex Stalock is expected to start his 11th straight game. Taras Lendzyk started 18 straight games to open the 1997-98 season. This is UMD's first meeting with Northern Michigan since playing in Marquette in 2001-02. The Wildcats are at the DECC on Jan. 24. UMD, on five-game winless streak of 0-4-1, does not play this weekend
