A mental health evaluation has been ordered for a Minneapolis woman charged with the robbery of the U.S. Bank in east Duluth on Thursday.

Charlene Caroline Hanford, 56, is charged with simple robbery. She's accused of entering the bank, located at 4601 E. Superior St., about noon and demanding money. A teller turned over about $2,500 in cash, including some marked money that police could trace.

A Hermantown police officer, who had Hanford's description, saw her near the Wal-Mart store in Hermantown on Friday and took her into custody. Hanford's next court appearance hasn't been scheduled.
