Men As Peacemakers (MAP) is having a tool sale on Saturday, Sept. 18, at Builders Commonwealth, 517 Garfield Ave., in Duluth. This will be a fund-raising event to help underwrite the growing number of programs and services that MAP sponsors.
The second annual event begins with soliciting donations for all types of serviceable used tools. The public is being asked to consider donating items to the sale.
Carl Crawford, board chair, said, "Since 1996, Men as Peacemakers has been working toward providing a safer and more peaceful community. We have engaged hundreds of volunteers. Our tool sale is an innovative way for us to reach out to the community and for the community to help us reach our goals. Just look through your garage or basement and give us a call."
Donations being sought include:
Carpentry tools, mechanics tools, plumbing tools, electrical tools, nautical tools, bench power tools (grinders, drill presses, buffers, etc.), radial arm saws, table saws, jig saws, band saws, portable power tools and accessories (drills, saws, sanders, etc.), hand tools of all types (hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.), tool sets, hobby tools, air compressors, shop vacuums, tool carts and cabinets, measuring tools (tapes, meters, gauges, calipers, micrometers), yard and garden tools (shovels. rakes, hoes, lawnmowers, snowblowers, etc.), etc.
