Horseback proposal

Joe and I went on a horseback ride at my parents' ranch on New Year's Day. We rode through the trails in the forest on a gorgeous day with the sun shining and snow on the ground.

When we came out from the trails into the back of our hay field, Joe told me to stop my horse. I figured he needed to adjust his saddle or something. Instead, he asked me to "come here." It took a short while to maneuver my horse next to his, but when I did he said, "I've been wanting to do this for some time ..." and pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him.

It was a very special moment -- not only because he proposed, but he thought to do it on horseback, which is a big part of my life.
